COVID-19 Tests In The Mexican Caribbean
Some countries have implemented the requirement for their citizens to present a negative Covid-19 diagnostic test to authorize entry back into their country of origin.
As one of the world's leading destinations in the American continent, we have the capacity to perform the necessary tests for all our visitors.

Here we provide you with all the information regarding this test to make your trip to the Mexican Caribbean easier and safer.
WHAT IS THE COST OF THIS TEST?
Most of the hotel chains have confirmed that they will offer tests at no cost to their guests, additionally agreements have been made with laboratories and pharmacies to offer tests at preferential prices. In case of requiring a PCR test, the hotels will support with the necessary procedures. For more information consult directly with the chosen hotel and/or check the table of hospitals and laboratories.
DO CHILDREN ALSO HAVE TO BE TESTED FOR COVID-19?
Yes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all people from 2 years of age onwards must be tested for COVID-19 and present a negative result at the time of their departure from the Caribbean Mexican to enter the countries that require this test.
WHAT HAPPENS IF AT THE TIME OF MY DEPARTURE I DO NOT PRESENT PROOF OF MY NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST TO THE AIRLINE?
It is necessary for the proof of the negative COVID-19 test to be presented at the time of registration; otherwise, the airline will not allow the person to board the plane.
DOES THE MEXICAN CARIBBEAN HAVE ENOUGH TESTS FOR COVID-19?
Yes. In the Mexican Caribbean we work together with health authorities and hotels to facilitate access to the diagnostic tests required for our visitors.
WHAT IF MY TEST RESULT IS POSITIVE?
You can stay in the Mexican Caribbean to complete the quarantine period.
You will have various accommodation options to decide where you want to spend this time. Some hotels have specific areas as well as preferential rates. Check directly with the establishment of your interest for more information.
IF I ALREADY GOT THE COVID-19 VACCINE AND I PRESENT THE PROOF; DO I ALSO NEED AN ANTIGEN OR PCR TEST?
Yes, regardless of having received the COVID-19 vaccine, all passengers traveling from the Mexican Caribbean to the United States or some other country that requires the presentation of the negative result of the COVID-19 test, must be tested.

SHOULD I KEEP QUARANTINE WHEN I ARRIVE IN THE MEXICAN CARIBBEAN?
Tourists self-quarantine is not required and there are no travel restrictions to visit the Mexican Caribbean.
DO I NEED TO HAVE A MEDICAL EXAM TO VERIFY THAT I AM FREE OF CORONAVIRUS IN ORDER TO TRAVEL TO THE MEXICAN CARIBBEAN?
There is currently no official measure in this regard in Mexico. We suggest that you check directly with your airline and hotel to learn about their respective protocols.
