Mexican Caribbean Clean & Safe Check Certification
In order to provide confidence among travelers, employees, and the community, the Ministry of Tourism (SEDETUR) and the State Health Services Department (SESA), along with specialists in the sector, launched the "Mexican Caribbean Clean & Safe Check Certification” (CPPSIT) program which aims to maintain health measures for the prevention and containment of COVID-19, while supporting the tourism industry’s adaptation of health practices. This certification aligns with international protocols like those established by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Several companies, including hotels, transportation companies, tour operators, restaurants, and taxis, have registered to obtain the certification and comply with the highest sanitary measures.
“Safe Travels” Stamp – World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC)
Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean became the first destinations in the Americas to receive the “Global Safety Stamp” issued by the WTTC to destinations that adopted its standards for traveler protection. During the reopening process, the destinations of Cozumel, Puerto Morelos, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, and Costa Mujeres have also received the stamp of approval.
The Mexican Caribbean tourism industry has gone above and beyond to maintain the highest hygiene and safety standards, recruiting and working with internationally renowned companies including: ECOLAB, Sello de Calidad Punto Limpio, Cristal International Standards, Preverisk Group, 3M, Bayer, KEY, among many others.
