The Mexican Caribbean is distinguished by welcoming its visitors open arms, providing a warmth and great service which makes everyone feel at home.
The Mexican Caribbean and all of its destinations have the “Safe Travels" seal given by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC); being the first in the Americas to receive such certification for destinations that adopt global standards to ensure the hygiene at establishments and protocols to ensure the travelers´ safety.

Can I travel to the Mexican Caribbean?
Yes. Since June 1st hotels, restaurants, amusement parks, airlines and other tourist companies began to gradually resume operations.

Are the hotels open?
Yes. The hotels in the Mexican Caribbean reopened on June 8th. If you are looking for specific information of a hotel, we suggest you to get in touch with the property directly.
Are beaches open?
Some public beaches are now open, but with a 60% capacity.
Are the restaurants open?
Yes. The restaurants located in the Mexican Caribbean have been gradually reopening since June 8th.

What happens if a tourist has COVID-19 symptoms?
Quintana Roo´s Tourism Secretary and the State Health Services have established protocols in case there are suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the destination.

What should I pack for my trip to the Mexican Caribbean?
Worldwide, the main recommendations to follow when outdoors are in addition to maintaining some distance between people, the use of mouth cover masks, frequent hand washing and the usage of hand sanitizer. If you bring them along and you are traveling by airplane, we suggest you to ask the airline if they have any restrictions on these.
Anyways, there are many drugstores in the destination where you can purchase these items.
Are tourists traveling to the Mexican Caribbean required to self-quarantine?
Currently, self-quarantine is not required and there are no travel restrictions at all.
Am I obligated to present a medical report that proves I am Covid-free to travel to the Mexican Caribbean?
Currently, there are not any kind of official measure about it. We suggest you to get in touch with the airline or hotel to learn about their own protocols.
Are archaeological sites open?
Currently they are closed and the government has not established a reopening date yet.
