The Mexican Caribbean is distinguished by welcoming its visitors open arms, providing a warmth and great service which makes everyone feel at home.

The Mexican Caribbean and Cancun have the “Safe Travels" seal given by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC); being the first in the Americas to receive such certification for destinations that adopt global standards to ensure the hygiene at establishments and protocols to ensure the travelers´ safety.

Q:

Can I travel to the Mexican Caribbean?

A:

 

Yes. Since June 1st some hotels, restaurants, amusement parks, airlines and other tourist companies began to gradually resume operations.

Are the hotels open?

A:

Some of the hotels in the Mexican Caribbean reopened on June 8th. If you are looking for specific information of a hotel, we suggest you to get in touch with the property directly.

Can I go to the beach?

A:

The State Government will anounnce when the beaches are open. We recommend you to contact the hotel you are interested in.

Are the restaurants open?

A:

Some of the restaurants located in the Mexican Caribbean have been gradually reopening since June 8th.

What are the safety protocols established by the airports?

A:

Q:

What happens if a tourist has COVID-19 symtoms?

A:

Quintana Roo´s Tourism Secretary and the State Health Services have established protocols in case there are suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the destination.

Q:

What should I pack for my trip to the Mexican Caribbean?

A:

Worlwide, children over 13 years old should wear a mouth cover mask. You should also consider briging hand sanitizer gel. If you are travelling by plane, we suggest you to check directly with the airline if they have any restrictions.

You can also purchase these items in drugstores in the destination.

Are tourists traveling to the Mexican Caribbean required to self-quarantine?

A:

Currently, we do not requiere people to self-quarantine and there are no travel restrictions at all.

Am I obligated to present a medical report that proves I am Covid-free to travel to the Mexican Caribbean?

A:

Currently, we do not ask for any medical certification.

Are archaeological sites open?

A:

Currently they are closed and the government has not estabished a reopening date yet.
