Under the Sea
Being an island, water activities are one of the main attractions of Cozumel, highlighting scuba diving, as it features more than 40 different dive sites, from limestone caves to mysterious sunken ships, which are home to several marine life species such as parrotfish, sea urchins, sea anemones and giant sea sponges, sea turtles, nurse sharks, morays and the endemic Splendid toadfish of Cozumel.
If diving isn't your thing, but you still want to immerse in the depths of the ocean, we recommend you book a free diving or snorkeling tour, which will allow you admire the impressive corals, colorful fishes and interact with the marine life, some of which visit the waters of the island during special seasons, such as the spectacular eagle rays and giant manta rays, which can be seen from December through March, and from May to September you will find sea turtles. If you prefer to watch the underwater scenery keeping yourself dry at all times, go to 100 ft. underwater and enjoy the magic onboard a submarine.
Sail the Caribbean Sea onboard a yacht, catamaran or a boat to soak in Cozumel´s sweet sceneries: its coasts, turquoise waters and the most beautiful sunsets of the Mexican Caribbean. If you want to take this activity to the next level, we recommend you to book a tour on a clear boat. Your videos and photos will be a total sensation on Instagram!
If you are into water sports or just an adrenaline junkie, Cozumel has the perfect weather conditions and the best places to go windsurfing, kitesurfing, parasailing and surfing, this last activity only takes place in the eastern part of the island where the wind is strong and the current is intense.
Kayaking and paddleboarding are perfect activities for people of all ages, who want to enjoy the waters of Cozumel but without engaging in high-impact activities, such as doing yoga or enjoying the sunsets while paddleboarding. These kinds of activities can be done near the coast, in the deep sea, in a lagoon and even at night.
