Places To Visit
- 5th Avenue
Known by locals as "La Quinta"!, It is the heart of the city of Playa del Carmen, a great place to shop, eat, cool off. In the evenings, you can also find several beach clubs where you can enjoy the sun, sea and a refreshing drink, since the beach is on one side. It is the most iconic place in Playa del Carmen.
- 12th Street
Parallel to Fifth Avenue. At dusk this street comes alive and you can hear along it Caribbean rhythms, mariachi and the hits of the moment in its different restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
- Founders Park
One of the must-see places on "La Quinta". Do not forget to visit it and take a photo in the Portal Maya, where you will have in the background the imposing Caribbean Sea.
During the day and night you can observe some outdoor shows such as Los Voladores de Papantla or Mayan dance shows.
- Akumal
It is a heavenly bay with crystal clear waters and surrounded by large palm trees. An excellent place for rest and relationship in which you can practice sport fishing, snorkeling and diving, or simply take a well-deserved rest on its quiet and beautiful beaches.
Akumal means "Land of turtles" in Maya, and still lives up to its name, since it remains one of the favorite destinations of this great marine species that approach the coast to feed or spawn.
Along the bay you can find several restaurants facing the sea.
- Puerto Aventuras
It is located less than 30 minutes from the city center. It houses some of the best luxury hotels and a picturesque marina that has several small restaurants with a relaxed and open-air atmosphere that always feature the catch of the day, of which the lobster stands out. Play golf, swim with dolphins or sea lions; fishing, snorkeling or just enjoy a walk while admiring its stunning sunset.
