Discover The Route of the Cenotes

A place like no other in the world, where you can admire nature at its best. Located next to the highway that connects Puerto Morelos with the small town of Leona Vicario; the well-known "Ruta de los Cenotes" is home to several natural and adventure parks. This amazing place features more than 60 cenotes where snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking is so popular; besides that, you can practice fun activities such as ziplining, ATV riding, bike riding, bungee jumping and horseback riding.

Here are some of the cenotes you cannot miss if you plan to visit this mystical place:

• Zapote: Located in the park of the same name —Cenote Zapote Park— it is a unique 52-meter-deep cenote due to its incredible mineral formations known as "Hells Bells"; stalactites that grew underwater. In order to see them, it is necessary to dive and have an advanced open water diver certification, because they are located at a great depth. The park has two more cenotes called Abuelo Che Che and Las Palmas. There are ziplines, biking tours and ATV circuits.
• Siete Bocas: A semi-open cenote. It is named after its seven vents; some of which are connected to each other allowing you to swim from one of them to another, admiring the stalactites and watching the roots of the trees making their way from the surface down to the ground in search of water. Eight kilometers away from the Siete Bocas cenote, you will find another cenote.
• Kin Há: A cave-like cenote that is 40 meters deep. Remember to visit the open cenote Blanca Flor just one kilometer away, where you can zipline or if you consider yourself adventurous enough, jump from an impressive 14-meter platform.
• La Noria: An 18-meter-deep cenote; it is perfect for people who simply want to relax in the refreshing waters of a cenote. Here, you can also fly over the impressive jungle on a zipline circuit or ride an ATV. If you like camping, you can do it here, where you are going to live an amazing outdoor experience.
• Las Mojarras: The largest cenote located along the Route of the Cenotes. This beautiful cenote has a diameter of 67 meters. Here you can fly over it along its 600-meter zipline or ride an ATV through the majestic Mayan jungle.
• Verde Lucero: A beautiful open cenote. Cross above the cenote on a zipline and watch the emerald green color of its waters or try jumping from one of its platforms.
• Boca del Puma: This incredible park has two different cenotes inside. Here you can practice zip-lining, ATV riding, bike riding, horseback riding and rappelling. You will enjoy learning about the history and production of the chewing gum.

• Selvática: This incredible adventure park offers you different activities such as bungee jumping, swimming in a cenote, a circuit of ten ziplines, driving off-road vehicles, and much more.
• Xenotes: An amazing tour where you will be able to swim in different kinds of cenotes and practice fun activities in each one of them: assisted rappel, ziplines, kayaking, and swimming.
• Reserva Toh: A 500-acre nature reserve that is perfect for admiring different bird and wildlife species. If you are lucky enough, you may even see some jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, coatis and peccaries. In here, you can also enjoy night walks, hiking and meditations practices that will connect you with the impressive jungle.

How to get there?

The Route of the Cenotes is 5 kilometers (3 miles) away from Puerto Morelos and 40 kilometers (24 miles) away from Cancun. The access to this place can be a bit tricky if you do not get there by car, so we recommend you renting a car or hiring a taxi; make sure the service is round trip, or better yet, get a tour that includes round transportation.

Schedule:

Most of the cenotes are open from 9:00 - 17:00 hours. However, we recommend you to check this in advance.
