Mahahual has excellent places to carry out sport fishing, one of them is Xcalak which is characterized by being ideal for fly fishing, here year-round you can fish sierra, horse mackerel, tuna, barracuda, grouper, snapper and tarpon ; and from April to June, there is a lot of gold, marlin and sailfish. While in Chinchorro, lobster is harvested by hand harvested by locals.
